Seems like a good idea.
Read Lyle McDonald's article here.
Basically, it increases fat mobilization and oxidation, increases energy, decreases fatigue, and helps you burn more calories.
And, if you're working out at 7am, might make your workouts less torturous. So what's not to like?
I'm going to start using my roommate's little espresso machine before hitting the P90X workouts.

Phil. You seem to be really into Lyle McDonald's articles. How'd you find the guy? What's his story?
ReplyDeleteMe and Lyle are like BBF. He just doesn't know it.
ReplyDeleteI found him through other bloggers who kept referencing his work and citing him as an authority. So I started checking out his site, reading his stuff, and he consistently puts out no-nonsense, common sense stuff that's based on science. Which to me is great.
He just really knows his stuff, is independently wealthy from the sales of his ebooks, and has spent his life studying nutrition/sports/weight lifting, as well as the last 4 years training for speed skating in the Olympics.
So yeah! Awesome resource. I've learned a ton of stuff from his site, and plan to keep sharing interesting bits and pieces with you guys as we go.
