Yoga X Tomorrow

Just a heads up, guys.

Yoga X is 1.5 hours long. That's right, about 90 minutes. If you're going to do it in the morning, you need to take that into account. I've done it a couple of times, and usually only get to the 45 minute mark where it changes from the 'asanas' (moving postures) to the balance positions.

Tony is crazy about yoga, and I think it's awesome too, so I urge you guys to do the whole thing if you can. After all these weights we need the yoga to help stretch us out and maintain flexibility. Maybe break it up in two, 45 min in the morning, 45 min in the evening, since you won't really sweat with the balance stuff?

I'm actually going to do a 90 minute yoga class after work tomorrow, which is more fun and engaging than watching a DVD, and I bet I'm going to sweat buckets.

  1. Since I suck at yoga, do you think biking from my place to the end of Key Biscayne and back would do the job?

  2. I don't think so, Nick.

If only because part of the point of yoga is not to make you exercise, but rather to help core strength, to develop flexibility, balance, to help you stretch out your body following the previous 2 workouts, and provide you with some mental benefits as well.

Tony Horton has said over and over again that the Yoga workout is a core part of P90X. He says in an interview that the reason he's able to do the things he can today at 50 isn't because of pull ups, but because of yoga.

I think you should give it a shot.

  3. Can we bike from Nick's place to Key Biscayne when I visit?

  4. No, Dan. We can't. Nick can, but I want us to do fun things. That won't kill us.
